URGENT NOTICE FOR STUDENT VISA APPLICANTS
Applicants for student visas are hereby notified that, according to Royal Decree 1155/2024 of November 19, which approves the Regulations of Organic Law 4/2000 of January 11, on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain and their social integration, specifically Article 36, student visa applications must be submitted at least two months before the start date of academic activity or studies.
If a student submits their visa application less than the legally required two months in advance, they should be aware that it may be denied or that they may only be able to obtain the visa once their studies have begun.
Therefore, all student visa applicants must submit a disclaimer form, expressly acknowledging that submitting the application after the aforementioned deadline may result in the inability to begin their studies on time or in the denial of their visa.
- The student visa will be processed by adding one month prior to the start date of
the studies and 15 days after completion. For example:
- For an acceptance letter - from October 1, 2025 to July 1, 2026
- The visa must be processed - from September 1, 2025 to July 16,
2026
- the latest day to submit the visa application at BLS office: July 31,
2025
- Medical certificate ( Bilingual ) – Templates can be avail under Download forms.
The total duration registered will determine whether is considered a SSU or SLU. Family
members: Only applications from family members of bachelor or master degree students are
accepted. . Furthermore, they cannot submit their application simultaneously with the
principal; they must wait until the principal’s autorization has been granted
beforehand. (NALCAP family members will not be allowed to apply )
All Fullbright Scholarship students applications will be taken directly at the Consulates
with appointments
Please do not purchase the airlines ticket unless the VISA is in your possession

All travelers, regardless of the circumstances of their trip, are strongly recommended to

Non- working Residence visa applicants are strongly advised to submit their applications between January and May.
Applications submitted between June and December may be subject to delays of up to 12 weeks, due to the higher volume of visas processed during the summer and fall seasons.
Urgent Notice for Non-working residence visa Applications:
Starting 1st April 2025 BLS Application center Houston will no longer accept
NON-RESIDENCE VISA applications by Postal. Applicant will require to make an
appointment (Mandatory ) and must appear in person at BLS to submit their visa
applications on their appointment date and timings. Any applications received on and
after 01st April by postal will be returned at the applicant cost

It's mandatory to make an appointment for the children below 6 years accompanying
parents to submit their visa application. Application without an appointment will
not be entertained.

Be cautious of intermediaries selling visa appointments under the name of BLS
International or individually outside our center. All appointments must be booked
through the BLS International website. Please refrain from purchasing appointments
through a third party: this is a fraudulent practice that BLS International strongly

BLS Employee must provide receipt for all the services availed and paid at BLS Spain
Visa Application Centre.
